1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Pixelnest Inc. ("HotFriday", "we", "us" or "our"), the operator of the HotFriday website at hotfriday.com (the "Service"), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy laws.

By using the Service or providing us with personal information, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

2. Who is responsible for your information

Pixelnest Inc. is the organisation responsible for the personal information collected through the Service. You can reach our privacy contact using the details in the "Contact us" section below.

3. Information we collect

Information you provide: when you join our list, apply as a seller or brand, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, business or brand name, website, product category and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically: when you visit the Service, we may collect limited technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, referring pages and usage data, including through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of sensitive information, and we ask that you do not send such information to us.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to: respond to your enquiries and provide the information or updates you request; evaluate and administer seller and brand applications; operate, maintain, secure and improve the Service; communicate with you, including sending service or marketing messages where permitted; detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security issues; and comply with our legal obligations.

5. Consent and its withdrawal

We collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent — which may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and the context — or as otherwise permitted or required by law. By providing information through the Service, you consent to its processing for the purposes described in this Policy.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide certain services. See "Your rights and choices" below for how to do this.

6. Marketing communications

Where you have asked to receive updates, we may send you emails about HotFriday. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also contact us to opt out. We may still send you essential service-related messages where necessary.

7. How we share your information

We share personal information only as needed and as described here: with service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, email delivery and analytics, under obligations of confidentiality and limited use; in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets; and where required or permitted by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

8. International transfers

We are based in Canada, and your information may be stored or processed in Canada or in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where information is transferred outside your jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of those countries, and we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection.

9. Cookies, analytics and bot protection

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences and understand how the Service is used. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Service functions.

To protect our forms from spam and automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs. Turnstile may collect device and browser information and other signals to distinguish human visitors from bots; it does not use this information for advertising or cross-site tracking. Your use of Turnstile is also governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum, available at https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected — including responding to you, evaluating applications, meeting our legal, accounting and reporting obligations, and resolving disputes. When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.

11. How we protect your information

We use appropriate technical, administrative and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorised access, use or disclosure, taking into account the sensitivity of the information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access and obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, to withdraw your consent, and to ask us to delete your information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity before responding.

If you have a concern that we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

13. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party websites and services that operate under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing them with your information.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

16. Contact us
